I'd be playing a broken record if I say that I love reading and doing TAG posts. This gives an insight into the lives of the bloggers and as a reader I always loved knowing more about the person behind the screen. The tags not only bring readers closer to the author, but help connect with fellow bloggers. We have a converging point - Makeup Addiction! So, why not self-nominate myself for this one and spread the joy! Here's a peek into my addiction :-)
1. What product do you still keep buying more of despite having plenty in your collection?
Oh boy! Going for the jugular!
Well, I find no a little shame in admitting that I am a serious lipstick hoarder. With a count exceeding 135, *Masha'Allah* I rarely find a color that is absent from my collection. Now I have come down to trying different finishes & undertones. It has become my compulsive nature to stare at swatches for hours to spot negligible differences - that nobody else notices. It's my passion, yes, but I do believe I have hoarded enough to la- "oh, look! a new color" - LOL! Yes, this is how I get distracted to add more in my stash. Skincare was my "ex", lipsticks are my "current love", and I see myself "rebounding" with blushes ;-)
2. What is the one product you can't live without?
I actually took a 30-minute break to think about this question. If it has to be a "product", then lipstick. Closely behind would be brow-grooming pencil/kit and concealer. I'm forcing myself to move on to next question. Else, I would keep adding.
3. What is your favorite makeup brand?
In drugstore, I love what NYX has to offer in terms of its variety and affordability. If we look at locally available options, Revlon would be my pick as an all-rounder in pigmentation and peformance. Sadly, the prices are not affordable enough for it to be truly "drugstore" in Pakistan.
Benefit and MAC are the high-end brands I can relate to. Urban Decay would have been up there with these, but I feel they're more "marketing" and less in "performance" as compared to what similar brands have to offer.
4. How big is your makeup collection?
If my family were to answer this, they will surely portray as if my makeup occupies 3/4th of the living space in my house. :-) If you ask me, I'd say it's moderately big (with items I'm blessed to have). Thankfully, I have limited my hoarding instincts and have been removing/adding necessary products to focus on "quality" and "valued" products instead of grabbing each and every thing.
5. How do you like to store your makeup products?
I have stored my lipsticks in Acrylic lipstick holders and plastic boxes with a lid. The pen-holders and dividers have the pencils & brushes. Acrylic drawers store routine items I grab often from my dressing table. Else, I have set baskets and dividers inside my wooden drawers to organize products based on their usage and how frequently I use them. I keep re-organizing them often into more efficient arrangements. I do wish to get a separate chest of drawers once I am done relocating.
6. How many makeup items have you got in your handbag at the moment?
I'm traveling to Lahore as I write this post, so you can bet that I am carrying dowry-sized handbag full of cosmetics at the moment. Normally, I barely have a lipstick, a liner, and a blush.
7. If you could raid another blogger's stash, who would it be?
I have had dreams about this question, so I know my answer really well. Not just me, but every makeup enthusiast would love to dive into the stash of Christine from Temptalia. I mean who in the right mind WOULD NOT! Her makeup stash is what dreams are made of!
8. How long does your usual makeup routine take and how many products do you use in it?
Again, my husband would say it takes me long enough.
Almost as long as it takes for the hair to be turned white.
Almost as long as two bridal makeup appointments.
But yeah, I do get done eventually. :-D
If I exclude hair straightening/styling, the makeup itself takes anything between 10-15 minutes. If I know there is flexibility of time, I tend to be very very slow and launch into that mode where I can groom every brow hair, perfect every lash, cover every blemish, conceal every pore...and so on. In regular routine, it's a mix of both extremes. I take most time in getting the flawless base + concealer + brows done. I tend to skip mascara and eye shadows mostly. Just a quick liner and blush/lipstick/highlighter when I am heading out. 8-10 products including tools are used in my daily routine.
9. Have you ever brought makeup knowing you wouldn't use it?
:$ I have certainly bought makeup WITH the intention of using it, but some of it did end up in the dark corners of my drawers, waiting to be rediscovered. Also, I have bought things I don't use normally, but would like to "try". Contour Kits and False Eyelashes are the most recent examples. If I answer the question directly, no, I have not made purchases knowing I wouldn't use the items.
That is all from my side, loves! Hope it offered you a little preview of my addiction ^_^ I'd love to learn more about yours! I tag:

This is such an interesting post Bia. I can totally agree with your view point about Urban Decay. Now that I have spent considerable amount on their products, I realize their products are more of a collector items. I loved this tag, maybe I'll tag myself and do it soon! :D
